Cookies
What is cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a company’s computer or device. Cookies can contain text and numbers, for example dates. Cookies are not programs and do not contain viruses or other malicious code.
The purpose of cookies is to store certain information about company visits to our website so that the website can later recognise the user and load relevant information. Examples of such information include login details, information about previous visits, and which parts of the website the company has visited.
A cookie can only be read by the website (URL) where it was stored. Regular cookies stored from a website come from the address shown in the browser’s address bar. A website may also include content or functions loaded from other addresses than the one shown in the address bar, for example analytics tools or third party content. In this way, cookies may also be stored from other addresses via the website, so called third party cookies.
Some cookies (so called session cookies) are stored only during a browser session and are deleted when the browser is closed. Other cookies (so called persistent cookies) are stored for a certain period of time and are not deleted until the period has expired.
Which cookies are used on the website and why?
In connection with login information:
“DW_Extranet” (only if the solution includes Extranet)
“DW_Extranet” is a persistent cookie that contains encrypted information about the username and password when the company uses the website’s login function. The cookie has a lifespan of one month and is deleted one month after the last use of the login function. The purpose is to facilitate recurring logins.
In connection with date of last and previous visits: “Dynamicweb”
“Dynamicweb” is a persistent cookie consisting of two parts:
“Dynamicweb.VisitorID” is a unique ID assigned to the company during its visit to the website.
“Dynamicweb.VisitDate” contains information about the date of the most recent visit and is used for statistics.
The cookie has a lifespan of one year and is deleted one year after the last visit.
How can cookies be avoided on the website?
Regardless of which browser is used, the settings can be changed so that cookies are not stored. Some browsers also allow this setting to be applied only to specific websites.
How can cookies be deleted?
Cookies can be deleted in the browser settings. Help and instructions are available in the browser or on the browser’s website.
